Now keep that picture in your mind and envision the future of your community. 

Our community has many strengths. Monroe County is a regional employment hub, with approximately 10,000 people working in the higher education and life sciences sectors. This is sizable given our labor force of around 80,000. Over 47% of Monroe County residents have a bachelor’s degree or higher, compared to 33.7% nationally. We have quality K-12 schools. Our community shines in arts, sports and accessible green space. Forty-six percent of our neighbors live within a half mile of a park, compared to 18% for the average American. These factors all lend to a fantastic community we are fortunate to have.
