The streets of Bloomington may not be awash in students this semester the way it usually is, but Indiana University clocked enrollment for fall 2020 at 42,552 degree-seeking students.
And whether these students are attending online, in person or a hybrid, they are the thousands seeking to learn a discipline, advance their understanding of the world and eventually embark on careers.
Most of these students will graduate and leave Bloomington. Many will leave Indiana. In fact, if we look at the IU Bloomington graduating class of 2012, five years later 37% of them were employed in Indiana.
