1910: Sawtooth-roofline Showers building goes up. Business is growing rapidly.
1920s: Showers Furniture Factory at its peak employs 2,500, ships 16 railcars of furniture daily from the plant.
1953: City leaders form Bloomington Advancement Corp. to attract jobs to Bloomington. Shares are sold and profits are invested in westside industrial park that eventually includes Westinghouse, Otis, Franklin Manufacturing/GE.
